We began our memorable day at CYE with a game of Giants, Wizards and Elves. After that, we split into two groups for kayaking and sailing. Everyone was feeling a mixture of emotions: excitement, fear and anticipation! By the time we had got changed into wetsuits and life jackets everyone was super excited. 

The kayaking was very fun. After we had learned the basics of how to paddle we played some games like Cops and Robbers and splashed each other...a lot! At the end of the session we walked along an upturned kayak and jumped off the end, even the teachers had a go!

Sailing was exhilarating. We felt the wind in our hair as we worked with our team to put the sail up and steer the boat. Our favourite part of the sailing activity was anchoring at a beach and enjoying a snack of hot chocolate and cake!  

We have to say that this has been one of the best trips of Southbourne Juniors. The boat engines were humming, the sun was shining and the water was gleaming. All you need for a fun-filled day. Everyone looked really tired after the trip, that’s the sign of a good day!
